Joseph Randall (Randy) Martin, Sr.

Obituary: Joseph Randall (Randy) Martin Sr. 43 of Kannapolis was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his residence. His death follows a period of declining health for several years. Randy was born in Cabarrus county on December 20, 1968 a son of the late Johnie Sue Wood Martin and James Wayne Martin Sr. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, James Wayne Martin Jr.He was formerly employed by Terry Products and was retired from the city of Kannapolis. Randy enjoyed working on older model cars and collected KISS memorabilia. He was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church. He loved his family and accepted Jesus into his life in 2006.Randy is survived by his wife, Kelly Caulder Martin, a son, Joseph Randall Martin Jr., mother-in-law, Janice Thomas, sister-in-law Cheryl Poos and husband Larry, uncle, Grady Hilliard Wood, 1 niece, 1 nephew all of Kannapolis, and many friends. Randy had the personality of a gentle giant and was dearly loved.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8. 2012, at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Neal Brower officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial park.
