Joseph "Joe "Sheets

Obituary: Joseph "Joe" Monroe Sheets, Jr., 64, of Kannapolis passed away at the VA Hospital Liberty Lane Hospice Unit in Salisbury. He was born August 21, 1952 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Joseph Monroe Sheets, Sr. and Lila Mae Ross Cannup. Joe had worked at G & S Metal for over 35 years where he was the service manager. He loved working on his antique '55 Chevy Bel Air. Joe enjoyed going to the beach with his family and fishing for flounder. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home with a service to follow at 6:00 PM in Whitley's Chapel officiated by Rev. Joy Garman. Burial with military rites will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Historic National Cemetery in Salisbury. He is survived by his wife, Rickie Parrish Sheets, three children, Tabitha Joyner, Chad Thomas, Timothy Thomas, 15 grandchildren, brother, Randy Sheets, two sisters, Lisa Nabors and Diane Perry.
