Joseph "Joe" Edward Christy

Joseph “Joe” Edward Christy, 58, of Kannapolis passed away April 1, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after suffering all his life with health issues. PRAISE THE LORD, HE FINALLY HAS A BRAND-NEW BODY!

Joe’s funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, April 3, at the Enochville Church of God with Rev. David Shoemake and Rev. Carl Fosdick officiating. His family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday prior to his funeral. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 5 at noon.

Joe was born January 22, 1964 in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Edward Daniel Christy and Reba Plott Christy of Kannapolis. A lifelong area resident, Joe graduated from A. L. Brown High School in 1982. He worked for Fieldcrest Cannon Mills from 1985 until they closed the Dye Department. Joe loved drawing, watching wrestling and being with his family. He loved his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by his sister Tami Miller (Barry) of Mooresville, his brother Chad Christy (Kelly) of Kannapolis; his nephews Derrick Pate, Devin Miller, Cody and Caleb Christy, and his niece Kayla Christy; a great-niece Kacyn Shoemake Pate and a great-nephew Oliver Hopkins.
