Joy Clark Hipp

Obituary: Joy Clark Hipp, 94, of Concord passed away peacefully on December 23, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mrs. Hipp was born to Estaline and Murray Clark in Union County, NC. She received her education at Winecoff School and graduated from Women's College of UNC, now UNCG. Throughout her teaching career she taught commercial office curriculum at Winecoff High School and later at Northwest Cabarrus High School until her retirement. She lived her active adult life in the Winecoff community and was an active member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 71 years George L. Hipp of Concord, son M. Lynn Hipp and wife Carol of Charlotte, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Word C. Clark and a son, Larkin D. Hipp. She will be remembered for her cheerful spirit, her positive attitude, her keen skill at bridge and her boundless devotion to family, friends and community.
