Joy Lorene (Mcgalliard) Loden

Joy Lorene McGalliard Loden, 73, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2024 following a period of declining health.

Joy was born November 14, 1950 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of Robert “Bob” and Sarah Frances Dial McGalliard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Loden in 1992 and a brother Joe McGalliard.

Joy was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of New Testament Independent Baptist Church. She was known as a neighborhood Mom. Joy enjoyed working as an extra in several TV shows and movies. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and dirt track racing. She loved the outdoors. She lived her life helping other people.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 12, 2024 at New Testament Independent Baptist Church conducted by Bro. Bobby Utley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home Thursday, May 9, 2024 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Audrey Blackwelder (Jeff) of Salisbury, Son, Robert “Gene” Loden, Jr. (Karen) of China Grove, a brother, Tony McGalliard (Sandra) of China Grove, and a sister, Memory Utley (Bobby) of Kannapolis.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Cody, Shannon, Harley, Chase, Hayley, Cameron, Hannah, Lindsay and Seth. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren with one due shortly.

She also leaves behind her beloved dog Zena.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to 5140 Irish Potato Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
