Joyce Marie (Helms) Lazenby

Joyce Marie Helms Lazenby, 75, of Kannapolis passed away Friday May 31, 2024, at her residence.

Joyce was born on May 1, 1949, in Cabarrus County to the late William Kemp Helms and the late Mildred Viola Kanipe Helms.

Joyce was a very active member of West A Street Church of God as long as her health permitted.  She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and was also the organizer for the scout’s wild game dinner.  She worked at Cannon Mills for 33 years until its closing, after that she worked for Wells Fargo Bank until her retirement. Joyce loved animals especially her fur babies of 2 dogs and 2 cats.

In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her sister; Carolyn Anita Helms Miller Key and her brother; Wayne Lorraine Helms.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; David Wayne Lazenby and his wife Debra, 2 grandsons; Kevin Lazenby and Luke Lazenby and her niece Sherry Miller Harris whom she had lived with for the last 10 years, also her fur babies of 2 cats and 2 dogs.
