Obituary: Joyce "Meme" Stegall McCollum, 82, of China Grove, formerly of Kannapolis died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at her home after a period of declining health. Her funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 21 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Overcash and Rev. Dwayne Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to her funeral, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday. Joyce was born June 3, 1936 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Hurley "Bill" and Myrtle Setzer Stegall. She was a life-long area resident and an active member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. Joyce loved the Lord and her church and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin McCollum and her daughter, Cindy McCollum. She is survived by her son, Jeff McCollum (Barbara) of China Grove and her daughter, Bonnie M. Overcash (David) of Salisbury, 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Jennifer McCollum, her brother, Bill Stegall of McAdenville and her sister, Judy Bullington (Danny) of Kannapolis and several nieces and nephews.
