Joyce Ann Melson

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Joyce Ann Melson, age 60, of 406 Brentwood Cir. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2010. She was born June 3, 1950 in Bristol VA to the late Willie Taylor and Loraine C. Newman. Joyce was employed for over 20 years with AT&T. She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed gardening and NASCAR Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 20 at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the memorial service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Joe Newman. Joyce is survived by her husband, David Melson of the family home, her sons Eric J. Landfried of Walpole NH, Adam N. Swim of Charleston, WV and daughter, Sarah B. Swim of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Linda Potter of Denver, NC and Betty Marshall of Johnson City, TN and 2 brothers; Wayne "Buster" Newman of Bristol VA and Jerry Newman of Salem VA., grandchildren; Drew Mollohan, Nathan Landfried and Tyler Austin and many nieces and nephews.
