Joyce Rebecca (Murph) Messer

Joyce Rebecca Murph Messer, 77 of Kannapolis died Thursday December 23, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. No services are scheduled at this time.

Joyce was born March 28, 1944 in Cabarrus Co. NC, a daughter of the late Clarence A. and Nellie Johnson Murph. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jack Messer and her son, Jeffrey Thomas Messer; her sister Evelyn Wriestling and her brother, Archie L. Murph.

A lifelong area resident, Joyce was a 1962 graduate of Winecoff High School and as an adult worked for Cannon Mills as a weaver until retirement. She enjoyed fishing and reading and spending time with her family.

Those remaining to cherish her memories include her grandsons, William and Bradlee Messer and their mom, Kimberly Barber, all of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
