Joyce Roscoe

Obituary: Mrs. Joyce Barnhardt Roscoe 87, formally of Kannapolis went home to be with her Lord and Savior October 25, 2018 after a period of declining health. She was born December 21, 1930 in Chester, S.C. to the late John Frank Barnhardt and Gertie Shore Barnhardt. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley Willard Roscoe, sisters Katherine Upright and Geraldine Doby, and a brother J.T. Barnhardt. Joyce had worked and retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills Company and was a member of Fisher Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and watching old western movies. Her favorite actor was Clint Eastwood and she would spend hours watching his movies. Family members that remain to cherish her memories include her daughter Deborah King of Oceanside, California, two sons Ted Roscoe of Winter Springs, Florida, and Ed Roscoe of China Grove, N.C., eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Joey Spry. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Joyce will be laid to rest beside her husband in Carolina Memorial Park.
