Juanita Christine Mills

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Juanita Christine Mills, age 89, died Tues day, May 29, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center, Kannapolis, NC after two months of declining health. She was born December 19, 1922 in Bluefield, W. VA, the daughter of the late Samuel Glenn Ratliff and Nannie Lelia Jefferson Ratliff. Juanita was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Kannapolis, NC for forty-five years at Plant One, Sheet Packaging Dept. until her retirement. She was a member of United Love Baptist Church, Midland, NC. Her family fondly remembers her as always being a strong, true Christian and the way she always payed her tithes every Sunday. She was honest to the very end never wanting to ever tell a lie. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Mills who died in 1982; a son, Gary Mills; two grandsons, Shane Campbell and Chris Campbell; and a sister, Edith Hayes. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Steve Ayers and Rev. Marvin Tyson. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include her children, Bobby Mills & wife, Tara and Tony Mills, both of Salisbury, NC, Margaret Wood & husband, Tony of Kannapolis, NC, George Mills & wife, Helen of Florida, and Rick Mills & wife, Sonya of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Johnny Campbell & wife, Monica, Angie Jordan & husband, Mike, Ellen Crowell, and Carol Vannoy & husband, Bobby, Carson Mills, Jerry Mills, Suzy Mills, and Kaye Privette; a granddaughter-in-law, Angela Campbell; great-grandchildren, Haley, Michael, Bryan, Brooke, Rachael, Michaela, Morganne, Paige, Allison, Anthony, and Amber; two brothers, Wayne Dalton of Rockwell, NC and Leon Dalton & wife, Barbara of Asheville, NC.
