John Edward Garza was born August 12, 1951, in Wharton County, Texas to the late Guadalupe Ramirez Garza and Valentin Arturo Garza. He departed this life on June 23, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. He was preceded in death by siblings Henry, Joseph, Pete, Arturo, Florentino, Sammy, Bobby, Enrique, Betty, Linda, Minerva Garza.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Elia Hernandez, he devoted his life to his family and Church and was always there to offer guidance, support, and love. His strong work ethic and kind heart touched the lives of many people from all walks of life. He will forever be remembered for his warm spirit, commitment to integrity, and unwavering devotion to family. We love you, Grandpa, and will forever cherish your memories and the lessons you instilled in us. While we may forget the details of what we did or said, the emotions and morals will remain with us forever.

He will be dearly missed by 3 daughters: Noemi (Joseph) Ashmore, Dilsia (Martin) Contreras, Ana (Calvin) Young; five boys: Johnny (Lydia) Garza, Elias Garza, Jesse Garza, Ricardo (Conchita) Flores, Ruben (Maria) Flores; grandchildren: Eva, Esther, Natalia, Andrew, Ceyana, Rene, Callise, Jessica, Ricky, Viana, Mareli, Norah, Olivia and Alex, siblings; Humberto Garza, Alice Quintero, Rosemary Phillip, and Lidia Morales; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. We look forward to our reunion in Heaven.
