Judy Collier Church

Obituary: Judy Collier Church, 66 of Kannapolis ,died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord following a period of declining health. She was born June 4, 1943 in Cumberland County, NC daughter of the late Bryon and Betty Christine Woodell Collier. Judy was a devoted mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She retired in 2000 from Northwest Cabarrus Middle School cafeteria after 25 years of service. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Chuck Overcash. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 2, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, China Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Earl Church on November 21, 1998. Also preceded her in death were two sisters, Margie Minton and Linda Collier. She is survived by one Son: Jerry McLaurin of Kannapolis, three Daughters: Theresa (Tony) Jackson of Kannapolis, Earlene (Terry) Ritchie of Rockwell and Dorothy Collins and Andrew Swanson of Kannapolis. One Brother: Byron Collier of South Carolina. One Sister: Christine Ferrell of Smith Station, Alabama. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Brandy (Casey) Haithcox, Jerry McLaurin, Ashley (Don) VanZandt, Tasha McLaurin and Brittney Ritchie. Four Great Grandchildren: Codi Ingle, Cody Haithcox, Caleb Haithcox and Adriana McLaurin also survive.
