Judy Karriker Curlee, 74, of China Grove, peacefully passed away Thursday morning, July 28, 2022, following a period of declining health.
Born November 13, 1947, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Margaret Chambers Karriker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Curlee, her siblings, Paul, Jimmie, Jerry and Jack Karriker, Alice Bost, Hazel Karriker, Rachel Davis and Ann McNeely.
Judy graduated from South Rowan High and was owner and operator of a beauty salon for many years. She had also worked for Deloitte Touche and Food Lion. Judy was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and dancing.
Family members include her sons, Eddie Ritchie (Elizabeth) and Jason Ritchie (Jenni), her grandchildren, Lauren, Jacob and James Ritchie; sisters, Mary Owens (Jack) and Carolyn Timms; sisters-in-law, Linda, Ruby and Delsie Karriker; and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Phaniels Baptist Church. Services will begin at 4:00 pm in the church, conducted by Michael Taylor and Ken Reed, Pastors. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank Cabarrus Hospice, the 4th floor nurses at Atrium Health, Dr. David Rhodes, Dr. Geoffrey Rackoff, Dr. David Mitchell and their staffs, for the care, concern and love given.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Curlee’s name to Concordia Lutheran Church Youth, Phaniels Baptist Church or Hospice of Cabarrus County.
