Judy Carter Griffin

Obituary: Judy Lynn Carter Griffin, 72, passed away Monday morning, March 18, 2019, at Morningside Assisted Living, where she had been a resident. Born September 10, 1946 in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of Hallie Maxine Turner Carter and the late Archie Ray Carter. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Griffin. A graduate of A.L. Brown high, Judy had been a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Griffin's kind and personable demeanor served her well as a volunteer for CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. With a wonderful smile and happy heart, Judy had volunteered for 11 year and 10 months, logging 7,200 hours of volunteer service. Earlier in life, Judy enjoyed bowling. In addition to her mother, family members left with fond memories include her sons, Brett Griffin and wife Melanie, and Drew Griffin and his wife, Lisette; her sister, Deborah Carter; her 5 grandchildren, Ella, Rowan and Nora Griffin, and Aiden and Anneliese Griffin; and her nephews, Justin and Carter Breault. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, March 20th at Midway United Methodist Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Judy's life will begin at 3:00 PM Wednesday in the church, conducted by Rev. Todd McCullough, pastor. Mrs. Griffin will be laid to rest with her husband at Carolina Memorial Park. For those who may prefer, memorials may be made in Mrs. Griffin's name to Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Rd #250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
