Judy Dianne James Petrea

Obituary: Judy Dianne James Petrea, 65, of Concord went to be with the Lord at her residence on December 7, 2015 following a period of declining health. Judy was born in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Lacy Thomas James and Frances Marie Upright James. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Ann Douglas and Kay Frances James, one brother, Larry Thomas James, niece, Robin and nephew Richard. Judy was a homemaker and was a member of New Hope Independent Free Will Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, John David Petrea of the home, two sons, James David Petrea and wife Carol Anne of Youngsville, NC, John Phillip Petrea and Fiance' Stephanie of Harrisburg, one daughter, Elizabeth Marie Hamilton and husband Chris of Landis. Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at New Hope Independent Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Roger Bostic, pastor. Mrs. Petrea will lie in state thirty minutes prior to final rites. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence.
