Julia Ann Griffin

Julia Ann Griffin, 71, of Forest City, NC passed away on Saturday July 13, 2024. Julia was born on October 3, 1952, in Rutherford County, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents James H. Griffin and Mary Sue Griffin, her brother, James Michael Griffin, Nephew, Brian Stacey Griffin, her son, Timothy Scott Carver, and her daughter, Melissa Ann Carver.

Julia is a graduate of R.S. Central High School and attended Isothermal Community College. Julia aka Judy worked as an administrative assistant in the car industry for over 30 years. Judy raised her granddaughter Abigal (Abby) from the age of eight years old. Left to cherish her memory is Abby and fiancé Jonathan Sheppard, her sister and caregiver, Wanda Marie Griffin. Additionally, her nieces Audrey Lane and Amanda Roach and seven grandnieces, one grandnephew and two great grandnieces will carry their memories of Judy   Judy had so many friends throughout her life. Mary Simpson was Judy’s best friend. Both Judy and Mary will be buried on the same date and time on Friday 07/26/2023. Judy was also blessed with lifelong friendships with Geraldine, Betty, and Randall Lane. Judy gifted her dog, Marley, to Randall. Marley is now Randall’s best friend. An unexpected friend, Karen Loftis, developed the last year of her life.

Judy loved people and Judy loved life. She was such a giving person and she loved to laugh. Her church family meant the world to her. Judy lived her life through action, not just words. Judy will be missed by all her friends and family, but her heart will live on in their hearts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Overcash officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
