Junior L. Linton

Obituary: Junior L. Linton, 82, of Kannapolis went to his Heavenly Home on Friday, April 21, 2017 from Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 25 at Genesis Baptist Church, with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church before the funeral, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. At other times they will be at his daughter Norma Rose's home in Landis. Junior was born April 5, 1935 in Chesterfield Co. SC, a son of the late Mary Magdaline Linton Bullard. He moved to Kannapolis and went to work for Cannon Mills as a machinist in the roller shop, retiring after 35 years of service. Junior was an active member of Genesis Baptist Church, where he loved his sunday school class and his teacher. He was a simple man who loved his bluegrass-gospel music and his garden. Junior will be remembered for his friendliness and compassion for all. He saw the good in everyone. Junior was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his mother, Junior was preceded in death by his special aunt and uncle; Mr. and Mrs. George Linton, his brother Gerald Wayne Linton and his sister Billie Faye Amerson. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie Moore Linton of the home, his sons; Wayne Linton of Alabama, Mike Linton (Jill) and Wendell Linton (Tammy), both of Kannapolis and his daughters; Susan Whitley (Aaron) and Norma Rose (Bill), both of Landis. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and his 9 brothers and sisters; Major Duvall Bullard, Charles Bullard and Doris Atkinson, all of Hartsville, SC; Ordell Davis of TX, Rachel Branham of Columbia SC, George Linton of Kannapolis and Helen Pittman, Charlotte Linton and David Linton, all of High Point.
