Obituary: Karen Mabry Blevins, 74, passed away Friday evening, August 17, 2018, at her home. Born September 30, 1943 in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Jake and Elizabeth Dunnmon Mabry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Neisa Hudson and Jatana Stallings. Karen graduated from Landis High School and retired after more than 22 years of service from Gate Petroleum. A member of South China Grove Baptist Church, Karen was a NASCAR fan and an avid Ford fan. Mrs. Blevins was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family members left with many wonderful memories include her son, Randy Blevins (Tabitha Eakin), her daughter, Crystal Ballard and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Teka Ballard and Ria Blevins; brother, Jay Mabry; her sister, Sylvia Couvier and husband, Jim; and nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Blevins will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Everette Stotesbury. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in China Grove. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Blevins name to the donor's choice. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Blevins family.
