Obituary: Karl Keith Steinhiser, 44, of Concord died Tuesday December 27, 2011 at his residence. His death was unexpected. Karl was born on December 8, 1967, in La Porte County, Indiana, a son of Denis H. Steinhiser and Carol Stec Dombrowski.Karl was a 1986 graduate of Rogers High School in Michigan City, Indiana and enlisted in the USMC shortly after graduation. He retired after 20 years of service from the Marine Corp as a Staff Sergeant and served in Iraq during his military career.Funeral services for Karl will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery with Military honors. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.Karl is survived by his wife, Yelonda "Stevie" Gunnoe Steinhiser, 3 daughters, Megan and Rachel Steinhiser, and Natalie Gunnoe, his father, Denis H. Steinhiser and step-mother Brenda of LaPorte, IN., his mother, Carol S. Dombrowski and step-father Larry, of Michigan City, IN., brothers, Alan and Brian Steinhiser both of Michigan City, IN, step-sisters, Heather Smith Santana of Morganton, W.VA., and Tamara Smith Miller of LaPorte IN., and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
