Obituary: Karla Tallent Cheek, 30, of Concord died Feb. 9, 2010. She was born Aug. 25, 1979 in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of William Joseph Tallent and Mary L. Tallent of Concord. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , 2500 Rocky River Rd., Charlotte, NC. Burial will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior at church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband John Adam Cheek, her son Aiden , sister Wendy O'Brien of Marion, Va., 3 brothers: Terry Brown of Woodland Hills, Ut., Scott and Todd Brown both of Gilbert, Az. and her mother-in-law Violet Cook of Concord. Whitley's Funeral Home handling arrangements.
