Katherine Bowles Brackett

Obituary: Katherine Bowles Brackett, 86, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at CMC Northeast Medical Center. Mrs. Brackett was born September 24, 1926 in Rowan County to the late James R. Bowles, Sr. and Ethel Allen Bowles. She was married to the late Joseph William Brackett, Sr. who preceded her in October 2005. Katherine was a lifetime resident of the area; was employed by Solomon's Cleaners and later Cannon Mills Company plant #1 #2 Weave Room for 20 years until 1965; and she was a member of Rodgers Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Brackett Strickland and her husband, Darren of China Grove, NC; and a granddaughter, Jenna Cranfield of China Grove, NC. Mrs. Brackett was preceded in death by parents, husband, and two brothers, Ernest A. Bowles and James R. Bowles, Jr. A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Robinette and Rev. David Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:30 P.M. prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home.
