Katherine Amanda Eudy Chapman

Obituary: Katherine Amanda Eudy Chapman, 94, died at NorthEast Medical Center, November 16, 2010 after a year long period of declining health. Mrs. Chapman was born on March 8, 1916 the daughter of the late William Stephenson Eudy and Sophronia Malinda Stogner Eudy of Stanly County. She was preceded in death by brothers Artie, Hauty, Houston, Clegg, Gene, and Jack Eudy; sisters, Pantha Burris, Leona Shinn, Elsie Cress, Maggie Goodnight, and Mildred Eudy. Mrs. Chapman is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph T. Chapman and son, Tom Chapman and wife Nan of Ruskin, Florida and step grandson, Kyle Kennedy and wife, Erin. She is survived also by numerous loving nephews and nieces. Mrs. Chapman worked for Cannon Mills for many years before retiring. She became a member of First Presbyterian Church as a young child and then transferred her membership to Bethpage Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Chapman was a women loved for her calm and serene beauty and her caring personality. She always had a kind word and beautiful smile for all with whom she came in contact. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Rick Hoffarth. Burial will be at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
