Katherine Anita (Eggers) Cross

Katherine Anita Eggers Cross, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at her residence.

Katherine was born on August 16,1957 in Troy, New York. She was a cherished daughter of the late John Eggers and Hazel Berry Eggers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jack Eggers and foster sister Janice Eldred.

Kathie grew up in Hoags Corners and Castleton, NY and was a graduate of Maple Hill High School class of 1975. She later moved to Niskayuna, NY for 33 years, where she and Earl raised their family.

Kathie worked in Advertising Sales at the Times Union in Albany and Daily Gazette in Schenectady NY and retired in 2012.

Kathie had a talent for sewing and enjoyed reading. She loved going to the beach all over the east coast and loved to travel. She enjoyed eating seafood on the coast and preferred to be in the warmth of the sun over cold weather any day. Kathie enjoyed camping with her family growing up and continued to camp with her family and close friends as an adult. She went on many cruises to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, Hawaii and Alaska. For the last 10 years, Kathie and Earl traveled all over the US in their RV during the summer, and spent their winters in Sarasota, FL close to the beach. Kathie loved her family, friends but most of all, loved being Mema to Lilly and Lana.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 43 years, Earl Cross; daughter Anna Earnhardt and her husband Adam, son Mark Cross, older sister Sharon Faudree and her husband Bill, sister-in-law Gail Eggers and her two granddaughters Lilly Miller Waveris and Lana Earnhardt. Kathie also had numerous nieces and nephews as well as many close family friends.

A Celebration on life will be held at a later date in New York.
