Katherine Johnson Early

Obituary: Katherine Johnson Earley, 85, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013. She was born March 7, 1928 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Edward Ashe Johnson and Mary Flossie Suther Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Earley in 1989. She retired from Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 Sewing room after 25 years. She was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir in her earlier years. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Gene Edwards. Memorials may be made to Lane Street Baptist Church, 2532 Lane St., Kannapolis, NC 28083. Whitley's Funeral Home handling arrangements.
