Kathleen Christian Brown Castor

Obituary: Kathleen Christian Brown Castor was born January 13, 1922 to the late Lacey Christian and Annie Bonds Christian. She passed from this life to her heavenly home on March 10, 2012. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charlie Steven Brown in 1990. She was an active member of Kannapolis West A Church of God serving as superintendent of the Primary Dept. for 50 years and also in the ladies ministry. She attended Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove with her husband for the last 20 years and visited her home church frequently. She is survived by her husband Leroy A. Castor of the home, one son, Charles David Brown, wife Barbara of Kannapolis, three grandchildren, Charlea Safrit, husband Greg, David Alex Brown, wife Cynthia, Davia Digiuseppe, husband Mike, three great grandchildren, Hannah Safrit, Samuel Safrit, and Andrew Safrit, four nieces and two nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Kannapolis Church of God on West "A" Street with Rev. Mark Burns, Rev. J.T. Johnson, and Rev. Sam Crisp officiating. Private burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to services.
