Kathy Delaine Carter

Kathy Carter , 66, of Spencer passed away on Tuesday May 2, 2024 at Compass Healthcare in Spencer.  Kathy was born on January 22, 1958 in Cabarrus County to the late Walter Samuel Carter and the late Peggy Joyce Cleaver Carter.   After a 10, year battle with her heart it was left weak.

Her heart may have been too weak because she gave it to everyone she met. Kathy was a friendly, happy soul.  Her smile would light up a room as her laughter filled it with pure innocence. She loved her family and could remember everyone's birthday! She loved to share, especially lots of love. Her life might have been full of challenges, but she was always a fighter.  Nothing would stop her from doing what she wanted.  Even with disabilities she was independent. She surrounded herself with family and all her animals and everyone else's.  There was never a stray that she didn't love and care for. And never ever talked bad about anyone she loved or any animal.  She would set you straight, she was feisty when crossed.

She also found her soulmate and best friend Greg Walters later on in life.  They celebrated their love for each other.  She may be gone but never forgotten.

Those left to cherish her memory are: Wanda Williams, Anthony Carter, Lisia Hurlocker, Karen Lewis.   Greg Walters soulmate and best friend.

The family will receive friends on Monday May 6, 2024 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd.  Kannapolis, NC 28083 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM in the Chapel with Brother Jerry Shinn officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery 471 Church St. N, Concord NC 28025.
