Kathy Hyde Shimkonis

Obituary: Kathy Hyde Shimkonis, 62, of Kannapolis passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born June 27, 1951 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of Harold Clayton Hyde and Billie Wellman Hyde of Kannapolis. She had been an x-ray technician for several medical clinics in Charlotte and Raleigh. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Sam Crisp. Family will receive friends prior from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Josh Shimkonis of Wilmington, and Joey Shimkonis of Boca Raton, Fl., a daughter Jill Cattano of Del Ray Beach, Fl., two grandchildren, a brother Clay Hyde of Concord and a sister Lori Gibson of Kannapolis.
