Obituary: Kay Black Davis, 69, of Concord died unexpectedly at home on Monday, July 10, 2017 after a period of declining health. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 15 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Carrie Bishop officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends for a time of remembrance and fellowship at 11:45 AM Saturday at Whitley's Annex Chapel. Kay was born February 1, 1948 in Cabarrus Co., the daughter of the late Eugene H. Black and Marguerite Faggart Black of Concord. In addition to her father, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dean" Davis and her step-son, Richard "Rick" Davis, Jr. She was a lifelong area resident, graduate of Harrisburg High School and member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church. Kay worked for many years for Fun Tees apparel manufacturers of Concord retiring from the position of purchasing agent. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Marguerite Black and her daughter, Jennifer Letourneau (Raymond) of Birmingham AL and grandson Jacob R. Davis She is also survived by many other loving relatives. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to Wendy Garner of Interim Health for the loving kindness shown to Kay.
