Obituary: Kay Frances Wilkinson Faw, 77, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family following a period of declining health. Kay was born December 22, 1940 in Iredell County, NC a daughter of the late Bruce Carlington Wilkinson and the late Frances Marie Bumgarner Wilkinson. She was a graduate of Landis High School. Over the years she had served faithfully with her husband in his ministry and business endeavors. Kay Faw was a rare treasure that not many will ever find. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, nurturing and compassionate. She was a prayer warrior and a woman of integrity. As a pastor's wife she spent her life serving others. Her legacy is an entire family who serves Jesus. Kay had an amazing sense of humor and a contagious joy. But mostly she was a true Proverbs 31 woman. These scriptures describe her perfectly: Proverbs 31:25-30 reads: Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." ... Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday, July 12, 2018 at City Revival Church of Kannapolis, (formerly Truth Temple), conducted by Pastor Bryn Waddell, Rev. Gary Posey, Rev. Flip Benham and Mike Ruffin. Entombment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum, Salisbury. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Family members left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years; Rev. Garland Faw of the Home, four daughters; Angela (Carl) Ford of China Grove, Shelia Igo of Salisbury, Andrea Frieze (Terry) of Nashville and Vanessa Miles (Mark) of Salisbury, ten grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren also survive. Memorials may be made to City Revival Church of Kannapolis, P.O. Box 82, Landis, N.C. 28088. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Faw.
