Kelly Daniel Taft Beheler, 55, was called home to heaven on January 16th, 2020. Kelly was born in Gastonia, NC on June 25th, 1964. Throughout his life, Kelly worked as a heavy machine operator for the city. A Husky for life, Kelly graduated from Hunter Huss high school in 1982. Known for his kind soul and huge loving heart, anyone who knew Kelly knew that he loved his GI Joes, video games, and was a big kid at heart.
What Kelly loved most in the world was his wife, Karen, and their dog, Freebie. Kelly and Karen met in 2014, and the two knew almost immediately that it was love. In November of that year, they made things official at a ceremony in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Choosing “All of Me” as their wedding song, the two knew the first time they heard the tune that it described their relationship well – more than anything, they loved each other’s “perfect imperfections.”
A devoted father to his three sons Daniel, John, and Matthew, Kelly’s tragic passing did have one silver lining: he brought together all three boys for the first time in four years. Although he did not get to see the reunion, one of his greatest wishes was realized when his two sons finally reconnected.
Kelly was preceded in death by Joyce Delorenzo Hager, his mother and his father, John Beheler. He is survived by Karen Beheler, his darling wife; Elizabeth Roberts, his sister; Randy Samples, his brother; 3 nieces Ashley, Tamara, and Desi; his nephew Josh; and numerous cousins.
Although we know Kelly is with his family in heaven, our hearts are broken to no longer have him here with us. He will be greatly missed by everyone he knew.
