Kenneth Michael (Mike) Almond

Obituary: Mike Almond- Kenneth Michael Almond, 70, of Concord passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at his home. He was born September 3, 1948 in Cabarrus County, a son of Juanita Love Almond of Concord and the late Olen "Bob" Almond. He was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra Kaye Lemmonds Almond in 2015. Mike had retired from E.J. Snyder, Inc. in Albemarle. He loved books, movies and playing golf. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Parkwood Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Michael Waters. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Shelly Mills (Wesley), sons, Joe Almond (Jina), Matt Almond (Laura), grandchildren, Kristin Brown (Jay), Avery Almond, Kyle Mills three brothers, Kelly Almond (Frances), Doug Almond (Linda) and Jeff Almond (Beth).
