Obituary: Kenneth Marvin Barber, Sr., age 62, of Charlotte died Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home. His death was unexpected. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday, April 16 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 5:00 PM prior to the service. Kenneth was born August 17, 1948 Largo, FL, a son of the late John Leonard Barber, Sr. and Dovie Louise Hart Barber. He was a long-time employee of Ameristeel Industries. Kenneth loved his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son, Kenneth M. Barber, Jr. (Jennifer) of Kannapolis and by his daughters; Belinda B. Ingle (Benny) and Dori Barber, both of Alabama and by 6 grandchildren, Lilly, Ethan, Kai, Dylan, Haley and Ben, Jr. Also surviving are his brother, Billy Barber of Seminole FL and his sisters, Mary Medlin of Tampa FL and Edith Mullins of Riverview FL. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, John L. Barber, Jr. and his sister, Lula Laverne Barber.
