Obituary: Kenneth Eugene Callicutt, Sr., 73, of 176 Canyon Loop, Mt. Gilead, NC died at his home on July 23, 2013. Mr. Callicutt was born on Feb. 20, 1940 in Rowan Co., the son of the late Harvey Wade Callicutt and the late, Goldie Ethel Keller Callicutt. In addition to her parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Christian Callicutt who died April 23, 1995 and 2 sisters; Kathryn LaFontain and Phyllis Christenbury and a brother, Charles Callicutt. Mr. Callicutt was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a truck driver. The funeral service for Mr. Callicutt will take place at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. before the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mr. Callicutt is survived by his son, Kenneth Callicutt, Jr. of Kannapolis; 2 grandchildren, Lennon Callicutt and Cassandra Callicutt and a brother, Dink Callicutt of Davidson, NC.
