Kenneth Wyatt Carlton, 82, passed away Easter morning, April 4, 2021, at his sister’s home, following a brief period of declining health.
Kenneth was born March 27, 1939, in Rowan County, the son of the late Blume Lawson Carlton and Minnie Pauline Goble Carlton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Triplett.
Kenneth was a special child of God and had been a longtime member of N. Kannapolis Baptist Church, recently attending Risen Life Church in Kannapolis. He never met a stranger, never said a bad word about anyone and brought joy to everyone he ever met. Although Kenneth is in a much better place today, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Loving family members include his sister, Peggy Payne, with whom he made his home; his nieces and nephews, Gary Carlton (Janice), Vicky Morris (Wayne), Ricky Payne (Marilyn), Tim Payne (Aida), Danny Payne (Dawn), Susan Canup (Jeff), Mickey Payne (Victoria), Pam Huffman (Lee) and Linda Haas (Alfred), great nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7th from 1:00-2:00 pm. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Kenneth’s life will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Chris Messina. Kenneth will be laid to rest with his parents at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, following the services.
