Obituary: Kenneth B. Crowell, 75, of Concord passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at CHS-NorthEast. He was born August 28, 1940 in Stanly County, the son of Sallie Lucille Poplin Crowell of Salisbury and the late Earl B. Crowell. Kenneth was a 1965 graduate of NC State University. He was a past vice president of the Cabarrus County Wolfpack Club and an avid Wolfpack fan. He also was an avid target shooter and fisherman. Kenneth was an Executive Vice-President Assistant Director of Household Textiles at Cannon Mills for many years. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Tuesday prior at Whitley's. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tamera Suther Crowell, sons, Scott Crowell (Laura) of Huntersville, Brian Crowell (Gaye) of Kannapolis, grandchildren, Hayley Curry (Drew), Austin and Andrew Crowell, Paige Crowell, step-grandchildren, Lawson and Hiatt Durham, brother, Mike Crowell (Pam), sisters, Tessie McCullough, Tillie Hall (David) and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 416 E. First Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 and/or the Salvation Army, 216 Patterson Ave, Concord, NC 28025.
