Obituary: Francis Kevin Dagout Pham (Veno), age 18, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC. He was born February 8, 1996 in Guilford County, NC, the son of Claire Phuil Dagout and Dung Hoang Pham. Kevin was a 2014 graduate of A.L. Brown High School where he played in the band. He was a very happy, respectful person who enjoyed hanging out with his friends from time to time. In earlier years he was active in the Boy Scouts having participated in Troop 47 and later Troop 87. He even helped his mother at her nails shop at times. Kevin was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kannapolis, NC. His mother fondly remembers him growing up as being very stubborn but wanting to be in the Marine Corps someday. He was also a young man who loved the outdoors even going fishing from time to time. Some of his other thoughts were being a loyal Duke Blue Devils fan, showing off his Australian accent, and always wanting to be rich later in his life. A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Al Raquelme, C.C.s.R. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 9:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home. A rosary service will be given at 5:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors in addition to his parents include a brother, Austin Dagout Pham and a sister, Madeleine Dagout Pham (Bossy) of the home; maternal grandparents, Cel Kmok and Tu Dagout of Greensboro, NC; and a paternal grandfather, Hoang Thi Quang of Long An, Vietnam. Memorials may be made to the Jeff Gordon's Children's Foundation, 7575 West Winds Blvd. NW, Suite C, Concord, NC 28027.
