Obituary: "Kie" Kiolen Crider, 92, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from Universal Healthcare in Concord. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park at 12:30 PM Wednesday, August 31. His family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. Kie was born October 25, 1923 in Madison Co. GA, a son of the late D.P. and Ella Fowler Crider. He was the last surviving sibling out of 10 children. He was a long-time area resident and former member of 1st Wesleyan Church and current member of Calvary Baptist Church. Kie was a veteran of the US Army Aircorps, serving during WWII. After the war, Kie worked as an automotive machinist for several of the local area NAPA stores until retiring. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents and all his brothers and sisters, Kie was preceded in death by his wife "Polly" Hildreth Crider. Those left to cherish his memories are his 2 daughters; Cindy C. Kweider and Gail C. Self, grand-daughter Nicole S. Joyner (Chad),6 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, all of Concord and also a number of nieces and nephews. The families of Mr. Crider wish to thank the staff at Universal HealthCare and Rehab Concord as well as the staff of Hospice of Cabarrus Co., for the love and care shown to their father.
