Obituary: Kimmet Lynn Fidler, 63, of 714 Evelyn Avenue, Kannapolis died August 30, 2009 at CMC-Mercy, Charlotte. He was born November 26, 1945 in Mecklenburg County the son of the late Ernest and Ethel Watts Fidler. He was also preceded in death by a brother Mikel and a sister, Sue. He had worked at Pillowtex, Inc. in the weave room for many years and then retired from Barrday Co., in Charlotte. He was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Buddy Gulledge. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Bouknight Fidler, three children: Tammy Veach and husband Richard of Salisbury, Steven Fidler of Kannapolis and Alan Fidler and wife Crystal of China Grove, 7 grandchildren: Coty, Cole, Shay, Kaila, Breanna, Ethan and Camre, his sister Betty Elliott of Pineville, and two brothers: Craven Fidler of Hiddenite and Kermit Fidler of Mooresville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tn. 38105.
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Whitley' s Funeral Home

Service: 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel

Interment: West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove
