Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Kin Lee Patterson, age 74, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a period of declining health. He was born May 4, 1935 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late Pless Johnny Patterson and Mary Catherine Black Patterson. He had attended Evans Business College and Salisbury Business College. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps & later with the U.S. Navy having served a total of 20 years in the military. He had also spent time in the Vietnam Conflict. He was an active member of First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC where he had served as an usher. He had worked at the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt.#1 Data Processing Dept. for 2 years and the V.A. Hospital Medical Center, Salisbury, NC as a customer representative for 24 years. While he was stationed at Albuquerque, New Mexico he was active in the church he attended serving as an usher, S.S. teacher, bus driver, assistant scout master, and leader. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Freeze and two brothers, Pless J. Patterson and Lathy Ray Patterson. The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, March 29, 2010 at First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. James Matchette and Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC with full military honors by the U.S.Navy. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Helen Thomas Patterson; five children; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one step-daughter; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation: 7-9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28th at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 29th at First Wesleyan Church.

Interment: Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park
