Obituary: Kyle Lee Gantt, Jr., 81 of Kannapolis passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his home after declining health of four years. He was born June 30, 1933 in Forsyth County, the son of the late Kyle L. Gantt Sr and Daisy Hooker Gantt. He was preceded by a brother, Don Gantt. He served in the US Navy for many years. He also was a former member of the NC National Guard. He retired from Ryder-P.I.E. as a truck driver. After retiring, he was a tour bus driver for American Charters. Kyle was a 32 degree Mason with Stokes Masonic Lodge. He loved fishing, cb radios and vacationing with his family to the beach and the mountains. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Chuck Overcash. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Jarrell Gantt, three children, Kyleen G. Harrington (Darryl), Douglas Gantt and fiancé Jeanetta Broome, David Gantt, grandchildren, Tangela Williams (Terry), Shawn Gantt, Brian Gantt and fiancé Nikki Garmon, Jason Harrington (Sheila), Kristine Gantt, Doug Gantt Jr., 11 great grandchildren and two sisters, Juanita Thompson and Evelyn Shreve.
