Lamont T. Leonard, 97, of Kannapolis passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
He was born October 11, 1923 in Cabarrus Co. to the late John C. Leonard and Flora Goodman Leonard.
Lamont served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy, he retired from Cannon Mills, he enjoyed working on cars, and was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Ann Hayes Leonard in 2004, a son Michael Timothy Leonard in 2013 he was also preceded by two brothers and two half-sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory one son Donald Leonard and wife Brenda of Salisbury, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.R. Beaver officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
