Landis

LaRene Ann Failor Gruntz, 69, of Landis, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, following a period of declining health.

Born June 28, 1950 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late George and Anne Rees Failor.

Mrs. Gruntz was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a great stay at home mom.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and traveling to and spending time in the mountains, especially Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Dollywood.  It was also important to LaRene to be active in her church.  She loved all of her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren. Although in a much better place today, Mrs. Gruntz will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 47 years, James “Jim” Gruntz, of the home; her much loved children, Allison Potvin and husband, Ben, of Belmont, Jim Gruntz and wife, Jessica, of Pittsburgh, and Anna Gruntz, of Charlotte; her adored grandchildren, Isabella, Abigail and Alexander Gruntz, and Savannah Potvin; her brother, George Failor; sisters Mary Lou Failor-Hughes and Ella Gatto; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

For those who may prefer, memorials may be made in Mrs. Gruntz’s name to Levine Children’s Hospital, 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC  28203 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
