Larry William Beaver, Sr.

Larry William Beaver, Sr., 82, peacefully passed away into the arms of his Lord on Wednesday afternoon, July 5, 2023, at home surrounded by love.

Born November 14, 1940, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Fred J. and Margaret Canup Beaver. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie Elaine Beaver on June 7, 2017; a great-grandson, Sawyer Leigh Adkins; 2 brothers and a sister.

Larry retired from King’s Body Shop, where he had been a loyal employee for nearly 50 years.  An extremely talented and gifted body man, he was a hard worker and loved working with his hands. He loved his family, his Lord, was a NASCAR fan, and earlier in life, enjoyed dirt track racing. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Beaver will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members include his children, Pastor JR Beaver (Brandy); Schaley McCullen (Danny), Kim Weeder (Trish) and Tammie Cook (Gene). He is also survived by 6 brothers; his sister; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Jackson Park Baptist Church from 11:00 – 12:30 Saturday, July 8th.  Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm Saturday in the church, conducted by Pastor JR Beaver.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, where Mr. Beaver will be placed to rest with his wife.
