Larry "Wayne" Faggart

Obituary: Faggart, Larry Wayne (Wayne) Mooresville, NC- Larry Wayne Faggart (Wayne), age 69, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC for injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born November 19, 1943 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late William Harold Faggart and Inez Drye Faggart. He was a 1962 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis, NC. Wayne entered the U.S. Army having served during the late 1960's. Larry was employed in automotive sales most all of his life having worked at various dealerships including the former Beasley-Cross Chevrolet and former Jim Widenhouse Pontiac-Buick in Kannapolis. He held his church membership at Southside Baptist Church, Mooresville, NC. Wayne was known as a very avid NASCAR fan and really enjoyed his house and living at Lake Norman. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Faggart. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Revs. Mark Ball and James Pauley. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with military rites conducted by the Army National Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard . The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of almost fifty years, Mary Tate Faggart; one daughter, Gigi Larson of the home; one grandson, Travis Martin of Statesville, NC; two sisters, Dorothy Freeman and Diane Murph, both of Kannapolis, NC; three nephews; and two nieces.
