Obituary: Larry Steven Tucker "Tuck", 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Kannapolis, surrounded by his loving family on August 26, 2016. He was born November 6, 1943 in Kannapolis to the late G.C. "Steve" Tucker and Alda Morris Tucker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Renee Coe. Larry was married to Judy Hunter Tucker for 49 years and together they shared two children and three grandchildren. A 1962 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, he made lifelong relationships with many classmates and friends throughout the many years of Wonders football, baseball and basketball. Upon graduation, "Tuck" joined the US Air Force where he was stationed in Topeka, Kansas and Anchorage, Alaska. He was very proud to have served his country and often spoke of being a veteran. He was retired from Carolina Tire/Goodyear where he worked for over 30 years as Credit Manager. "Tuck" enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as coaching softball, Duke basketball, fishing, chatting with friends, the beach and spending time with family. Larry was a member of several organizations but his favorite membership was at Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis where he would drive the church van for others to be able to attend. Larry had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Central Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Curtis Parker. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5:30 PM Sunday prior at church. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. He is survived by his wife, Judy H. Tucker, son, Mark Tucker and wife, Angie of Kannapolis, daughter, Lisa Tucker of California, granddaughters, Katie Hakes "Cooter Bug" along with her fiancé, Justin Stallings of China Grove, Allison Tucker "Aley Cat" of Kannapolis, Robby Tucker of California, numerous cousins, nieces , nephews and in-laws.
