Larry William Spry

Larry William Spry, 77, of Landis, passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2024, at Novant Health Rowan, following a short period of declining health.

Born November 4, 1946, in Rowan County, Larry was a son of the late Paul Daniel Spry and Elsie Mae Wilcox Spry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Lee and Kenneth Ray Spry.

Mr. Spry retired from the Salisbury Rowan School System after more than 22 years of loyal service. Earlier, he had been employed for more than 30 years with Cannon Mills. Larry was a long time, faithful member of Landis Baptist Church. He loved his family, his Lord, his church family and enjoyed fishing. Although in a much better place today, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members include his devoted wife of 46 years, Brenda Steadman Spry; his daughter, Crystal Spry Siegel (Scott) ; grandchildren, Dylan, Savannah and Dalton Spry; a great-granddaughter, Skylah; his niece, Melissa Hartsell (Jason); nephews, Jonathan Steadman (Anna) and Taima Steadman (Tina); extended family members and his much loved dog and companion, Cody.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm Monday, January 29th, at Landis Baptist Church.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm in the church, conducted by Pastor Michael Austin and Pastor Roger Steadman. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, where Mr. Spry will be laid to rest.
