Obituary: Laura "Frankie" Chandler Brinkley, 91, of Kannapolis passed away on August 25, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born August 14, 1926 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Delmer Fillmore Chandler and Helen Sherrill Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Eugene "Gene" Brinkley and a brother, Ray Chandler. Frankie had formerly worked as a pharmacy tech at Eckerd's drugs for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Crafty Ladies group and was a former Sunday school teacher. She also loved working in her yard with flowers and loved watching birds. She also loved making crafts and needlepointing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior at the church. She is survived by her son, Eric Brinkley and wife, Rebecca Jarrett of Kannapolis, daughter, Laurie B. Butler and husband, Nick, of Moncks Corner, SC, three grandchildren, Kate B. Pulliam and husband, Taylor of Wilmington, Nick Butler III and wife, Anna Claire of Greer, SC, Garrett Butler and wife, Jessica of Columbia, SC, three sisters, Shirley Gray, Doris Craven, Nancye Moon, and brother, Max Chandler. The family would like to give special thanks to Sharon Holt, Christy Sigmon, Edward Scott, Julie Hill, Jane Long and all the other staff of Hospice of Cabarrus County for the love and care shown Frankie and the family.
