Laura Ann Teetsel Carmean, 78 years old, of China Grove, went to be with her Lord on January 20, 2023. Laura was born on February 11, 1944, in Green County, NY to the late Elbert Jewell and Anita Hull Teetsel.
Laura was a loving wife, mother, and superb Nana. Prior to retiring to be a Nana, Laura worked as a Case Manager for the NC Employment Secretary Commission for many years. She was a devout Christian woman and a faithful member of Damascus Baptist Church in Statesville. Laura was an avid quilter, who made quilts for many family members and friends and was a member of the Quilting Guilds in Salisbury.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Brenda Teetsel and her brother, Eldon Teetsel. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Charles Thomas Carmean; her sons, Aaron T. and Adam N. Carmean; her daughters, Bethany J. Rehme and her husband Ken and Keturah H. Callaway and her husband Eddie; and her grandchildren, Nevaeh and Addison Carmean and Drake and Jax Callaway.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 3-5pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, with a funeral service to celebrate her life at 5pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 11am in Salisbury National Cemetery.
