Laura M. Lucas

Obituary: Laura M. Lucas, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at her home. Laura was born August 12, 1964 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Alonzo Morgan and Vera Bell Draper Morgan. Laura was a homemaker for most of her life. She was raised in the Baptist faith. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Randy Tucker. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, "J.R." Lucas; her children, Christopher Lee Grizzly Adams & wife, Jessica of Rockwell, NC; Christy Edmisten of Kannapolis, NC; Richard Dale Adams and Daniel Paul Adams, both of Wilkesboro, NC; Milton Lee Lucas and Matthew Scott Lucas, both of Kannapolis, NC; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, William Andrew Morgan and Martin Alvin Morgan, both of Kannapolis, NC; and two sisters, Donna Gail Thompson of Kannapolis, NC and Pamela Poss of Norwood, GA.
Visitation: After the Memorial Service at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 5:00 PM, Thursday June 19, 2014 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: At a later date.
